Rep. Sheila Butt


State Representative Sheila Butt was elected to the Tennessee General Assembly in 2010 serving the 64th District and has served in the 107th, 108th and 109th General Assemblies.   She serves on the Criminal Justice Committee; Education Instruction & Programs Committee; Education Instruction & Programs Sub-Committee.  In the 109th Assembly she serves at the Republican House Majority Floor Leader.

Sheila Butt completed her Bachelor’s degree at East Tennessee State University with a major in English and minor in history. Sheila Butt is a successful and published author. She is the recipient of the 2013 Legislator of the Year Award by the South Central Tennessee Development District, the Freed-Hardeman University Horizons Kay Battle Service Award and Publishing Designs Golden Pen Award.  November of 2013, she received the “Elected Women of Excellence” award by the National Foundation for Women Legislators for her “dedicated service, leadership and passion for Tennessee and her country.”

 Sheila is married to Stan Butt and together they have 3 children and 9 grandchildren.

She is known nationwide for her integrity and an articulate message of standing for “faith, family and freedom.”
